N.Z. UNIVERSITY PRIZES AND SCHOLARSHIPS ARE ANNOUNCED
P.A. WELLINGTON, February 22. The results committee of the Senate of New Zealand have announced the following awards of scholarships and prizes:— » University prizes: Cook Memorial prize in mathematics: B. R. Morton (Auckland) and P. Whittle (Victoria) equal, the prize to be divided. Sir Julius von Haast prize in geology: R. H. Clark (Auckland). Sir James G. Wilson prize in agriculture: L. T. Evans (Lincoln). Senior scholarships: Architecture: C. H. Wakelin; agriculture: L. T. Evans (Lincoln); home science: Pamela L. Murray; medicine: G. J. Jeffries.
Post-graduate scholarships in arts: P. Whittle (Victoria), K. I. D. Maslen (Canterbury), W. R. Fisher (Victoria and Auckland; post-graduate scholarships in science: L. C. Vining (Auckland), Gwyneth D. Parry (Canterbury) ; travelling scholarship in medicine: J. G. Hunter; travelling scholarship in engineering: R. A. Callander (Canterbury); Macmillan Brown agriculture research scholarship: A. Iggo (Lincoln); travelling scholarship in architecture: E. A. La wry. Carnegie and Imperial Relations Trust Fellowships nominations by the University of New Zealand for the present year are: J. A. Hendry, Annie R. Allum, L. R. Bedggood, all of Auckland.
The University of New Zealand has announced the award of the following special senior scholarships for exservicemen: Senior scholarship in agrculture: K. M. Doull (Lincoln); senior scholarship in architecture: D. J. Wilson; senior scholarships in engineering: F. L. Cowie (Canterbury), B. Egan (Auckland), W. E. Leatham (Canterbury); post-graduate scholarships in arts: W. D. Barney and W. H. Pearson (both Canterbury). The Shirtcliffe scholarships selection committee, which met last Fri? day, has announced the following awards: Shirtcliffe Fellowship: E. R. Hill (Otago); Shirtcliffe research scholarship: Barbara M. Bell (Auckland); Shirtcliffe graduate bursary; R. B. Payne (Otago). ■
