HARIHARI NOTES

Master Michael Shearer, the elder son of Mr and Mrs Hans Shearer met with an accident here on Thursday last. He was riding on a bicycle behind a road service school bus, and when it stopped to put off a passenger ,the boy struck the rear of the bus with much force. He had one of his legs broken, and sustained several superficial head ' injuries. After receiveing attention from the doctor at Wataroa, he was conveyed to the Westland Hospital. The latest report is that he is progressing satisfactorily.
in Saturday evening there was a large gathering at the Harihari hall to bid farewell to Miss B. Rowley. On behalf of the residents, Mr R. McMillan presented the departing guest with an envelope and expressed their regret at her departure. Mr Hogg returned thanks on behalf of Miss Rowley, who is shortly takingup residence in Wellington. Music for dancing was supplied by the local orchestra. Mr and Mrs R. Searle were weekend visitors to Christchurch to attend the Jones-Maliquin wedding. Mr Ron James, of Hokitika, was r
