NEWFOUNDLAND’S NEW STATUS
(Rec. 10.30). OTTAWA, Feb. 19. The Governor-General’s assent was given to-night to the terms of Canada’s union with Newfoundland. The terms now go to the British Parliament and the King for confirmation, ’and Newfoundland will then formally (become a Canadian province.
