Hospital Board

The Buller Hospital Board at the request of the Buller mining districts Community Centre, is to ask the Health Department to permit. Dr. Feat, of Granity, to serve the Birchfield district instead of relying on the Denniston doctor to visit that town. The centre stated that the present position was very unsatisfactoi’v &'■> the Denniston doctors, had at times been reluctant to visit Birchfield, while it was often very difficult to get in touch with Denniston by telephone. Mrs E. Strang said that the doctor from Denniston was expected to visit Birchfield twice weekly, but that schedule had not been main tained.

Mrs O. Tyler considered that h would be more convenient for Dr. Peat to go from Granity to Birchfield instead of a doctor coming from Denniston.
