U.S. REFUSES TO SEND TROOPS TO JAPAN
WASHINGTON, February 15. The Army Department had turned down a recent request by General MacArthur for more troops, said the War Secretary, Mr Royall, to-day. General MacArthur had been told that it would be impracticable to send him any more, he added. Mr Royall made the statement when asked about the reports that General MacArthur had asked for more troops and planes because of the Chinese Communist victories.
