PARLIAMENT VOTES OVER FIFTEEN MILLIONS IN SHORT SITTING

P.A. WELLINGTON, October 29. The total honey production last season was 4700 tons, of which 151 tons, or three per cent., was handled by the Internal Marketing Department, which was an indication that the Department was not wanted by the honey producers, said Mr W. A. Sheat (Nat., Patea) in the House of Representatives this afternoon, when the debate on the Imprest Supply Bill No. 5 was continued.

Mr W. A. Bodkin (Nat., Central Otago) said the debate exploded the theory that a department, under a Socialist, regime, could bring anything but confusion confounded into anything it uiMej’took. After a brief reply by the ActingPrime Minister, the Rt. Hon. W. Nash, the Bill was given its second reading, nut through the committee stages promptly, and passed, giving one month’s supply amounting to £15,193,000. Just as Mr Speaker (the Pion R. McKeen( called for the next Order of the Day, Mr Nash rose and took mejnbers by surprise, when he said that, as the business set down for the day had been completed, he would suggest that the House adjourn. He moved accordingly, and the House rose at 4 p.m. for the week-end recess, until 2.30 p.m. on Tuesday. No indication was given by the Acting Prime Minister of future Bills to come down.
