The Rev. Father F. Garty, of Lower Hutt, has-been transferred to Reefton. He has been Assistant Parish Priest at Lower Hutt for over three years.

Three of the Government-assisted British migrants, who arrived by the Rangitikei, will proceed to Reefton, where employment has been arranged for them in the coal mines. They will board at the Miners’ Hostel, which is now nearly fully occupied.

The Greymouth Co-operative Women’s Guild was visited last week by Miss Mooney, of Wellington, the National Organiser of Women's Co-op. Guilds, who 'is visiting the West Coast Guilds. After the Guild song, Mrs. F. M, Schultz introduced Miss Mooney, who spoke on the Co-opera-tive Movement and gave a very interesting and instructive address. Mesdames R. Anderson and M. McMillan acted a short play, ‘‘Over the Garden Wall.” A string competition proved very amusing. The Wandering Shilling was won by Mrs. A. Lane. Supper was served by the hostesses and a very enjoyable evening brought to a close.

Between 8.30 and 9 o’clock on Wednesday evening, an almost perfect reproduction of bells of various churches in England was heard from St. John’s Presbyterian Church Greymouth. No decision has yet been reached, in regard to the installation of the equipment for amplifying, the recordings used on Wednesday night. If, however, it is decided to instal the equipment, St. John’s will be ths second church in New Zealand to adopt such a method of providing bells.
