Mr William Cropp, a former wellknown Westport resident, died recently in Wellington. For many years he conducted a coal dealers and general carrier business in the town. His wife predeceased him five years ago. He leaves five sons and one daughter. Mr Arthur Cropp, of Carter’s Junction, is a brother of deceased. On Sunday, the death occurred at Hector *bf Mr John Luke, a wellknown resident. He was 66 year’s of age, a native of County Durham, and had resided in New Zealand for 25 years. Mr Luke was a returned serviceman of the 1914-18 war, having served in the Imperial Army in the machine-gun section. He leaves a daughter, Mrs Morgan, of Hector; also a brother.
