“E” SIGN TO REPLACE “V” SIGN
BRUSSELS, October 26. The newly-formed European movement, under the leadership of Mr Churchill, M. Spaak, M. Blum, and Signor de Gasperi, is launching _ a European-wide campaign for unity under the symbol “E” which it is hoped to make 'the post-war counterpart of the war-time victory V sign. «_ Mr Churchill’s son-in-law, Mr Duncan Sandys, who is secretary of the organisation, said he believed that the “E” sign would become for the enslaved peoples of Europe wnat the “V” sign meant to the occupied countries during the war.
