BRITISH FARMING NOW PROSPEROUS
WELLINGTON Oct 27. “I was very impressed with the British Government’s planned agricultural policy,” said Mr B. Roberts, a former Minister of Agriculture on his return in the Rangitiki to-day from a visit to England. “Never in the history of Britain,” he added, “have farmers and farm workers enjoyed such prosperous conditions. The British farmers are being paid well for such things as milk, potatoes and meat.” In May, Mr Roberts attended the British Labour Party’s conference at Scarborough. Mr Roberts said he would not return to politics, but would „ retire “among by 26 grandchildren.”
