VOTES ONLY FOR ABORIGINES SO FAR
(Received September 3,, 11.30 p.m.) CANBERRA, September 3. The Australian aborigines had not reached the stage where they could be given representation in Parliament, like the Maoris in New Zealand, said the Minister of the Interior, Mr. Johnson. He added that the question of their representation was, however, a worth-while long-range objective, now that it was intended to give the aborigines the vote at the Federal elections.
