White Australia Or Not ?
SYDNEY, May 3. The Australian Legion of Ex-ser-vicemen has condemned the statement by the Federal Minister of Immigration (Mr. A. A. Calwell) that the Maori husband of an Australian girl could not remain in Australia The President of the Newcastle branch of the Legion (Mr. T. W. Bartley), said it was arrogance for Australia “to dictate what had been New Zealand’s policy for years.”
