U.S. Diplomat for Marshall Plan
(Rec. 9.25) WASHINGTON, April 21.
President Truman to-day nominated the Secretary for Commerce, Mr Averell Harriman, as Ambassador-at-large for the European recovery programme. The nomination will go to the Senate to-morrow. Mr Harriman will resign from the Cabinet. In his new post he will keep in close touch with countries benefiting through the European recovery programme.
