The Traffic Department campaign against faulty car head lamps began last night on a Dominionwide scale. On the West Coast, traffic inspectors operated at Hokitika* and stopped about 20 cars for light tests. Only one failed' to make the grade.

Following a difference of opinion between crane drivers and waterside workers on the Greymouth waterfront, it was stated last evening that the dispute, which had resulted in the loss of only one hour’s work on the Rata on Saturday had been settled.
