RUGBY FOOTBALL UNITED WIN IN KEEN FORWARD STRUGGLE
Neither United nor Blaketown backs were called upon for much work on Saturday, when the teams hiet at Rugby Park, and' a'hard forward struggle developed, United winning by 24 points to three. The United, Forwards played a fine game, hunting together in a pack which soon upset Blaketown’s calculations. Outstanding amongst the United forwards were Hill, Holmes and Purdon and it was. mainly their work that prevented Blaketown from crossing the line. . D. Dewar was in fine kicking form and the two. field goals he shot were fine efforts. A third attempt narrowly failed. Mathison put over a fine kick to secure a penalty well out. Blaketown’s only points came from a penalty.
