GENEVA, April 14. The main committee of the United Nations Conference on Freedom of Information, unanimously accepted the Australian resolution, seeking to bind countries io act against war propaganda and false and distorted reports. The resolution demands: — (1) All countries should promptly inform the United Nations secretarygeneral of the measures taken by them to .give effect to the General Assembly" resolutions against war propaganda and false reports. (2) Journalists’ associations’ and other non-political o t - semi- official bodies should co-opm-nte to ensue? the impartial presentation of news and opinions. (3) The United Nations and subsidiary bodies should consider how they may help in implementing the Assembly resolutions. (d) A sub-commission on freedom of information should co-operate th P acton taken in this direction on a national and international plane.
