NEW YORK, January 14.
Thirteen-year-old Jimmy Hartzell and three companions returned to school to-day in Troy (Ohio) much chastened after leatherings for having “borrowed” a ’plane belonging to Hartzell’s father for a two-hour ride yesterday. The boys rolled the ’plane from a hangar on the Hartzell estate and took off with Jimmy who had never had a flying lesson, at the controls. Jimmy finally landed the ’plane in a field of maize because he and two passengers became air sick. Hartzell senior said latei’ that the ’plane was of an- almost fool-proof type.
