MT. VICTORIA MURDER REVIVED

WELLINGTON., Jan. 15. The parents of Marie West,’whose body was found on Mount Victoria last October three months after she had disaopoared, have placed their affairs as touching their daughters death in the hands of their solicitor. Mr West, when interviewed at 111 s home in Mclntyre avenue, was asked whether the Wellington detective who had visited Japan had sought information from the Wests’ son Terence about inquiries he had made and whether Terence West had returned to New Zealand. Mr West replied that a detective had been to Japan and had been back several weeks. Terence West had been expected back about the middle of January, but had not arrived yet.. The detective had visited Japan to interview him.

Mrs West said it was more correct to say that the detective had visited Japan and amongst other things had interviewed her son. Terence West was reported earlier to have made personal inquiries into the case. Mrs West said he and his wife had referred all matters which affected them in relation to the death of their daughter to their solicitor, Mr W. E. Leicester, from whom alone it would be proper to make further inquiries. Mr Leicester said to-night that he had been briefed by Mr West, for the inquest. He had no knowledge of any pending prosecution.
