Drivers Protest at Parking Chaos In Auckland

P.A. AUCKLAND, June 27. Commercial lorry drivers here may refuse to deliver goods in the city area, as a protest against chaos in parking. This possibility is mentioned'in a communication from the Auckland Drivers’ Union to the Auckland Master Carriers’ Association. The unionists have suggested that the drivers call a stop-work meeting to determine their attitude. The union executive will meet on Monday to consider' this proposal. The matter has come to a head because a large number of drivers have complained that traffic officers have posted notices on their win-screens for double-parking offences. The union’s view is that drivers try to deliver goods as expeditiously as possible, and find it necessary to park theii’ vehicles outside of cars or other trucks;
