Security Council Backs Balkan Commission

(Rec. 11.0.). NEW YORK, May 22. The U.N.O. Security Council has rejected by six votes to two a Russian demand for the curtailment of the powers assigned to the U.N.O. Sub-Commission who have been left in the Balkans by the Balkan’s Commission, which is at present preparing its report at Geneva. Colombia, France and Syria abstained from voting. The Poland delegate was the Soviet’s sole supporter in the demand. During the debate the delegates of the Government’s of Bulgaria, and Yugoslavia, who re not members of the Secuirty council, bu't who attended by invitation, vigorously denied the United States allegations' that their Governments have refused to co-operate with the U.N.O. Sub-Com-mission.
