Flying Activities
C. BETTS SOLOS IN THREE HOURS The highlight of Sunday’s flying at Westport was the fine performance by C. Betts, who flew solo after only three hours dual instruction. Credit for his success must go largely to the West Coast United Aero Clubs’ instructor (Mr E. Dalcom). Weather conditions were ideal for flying. Others who participated in training flights were:—G. Day, J. Forsythe, J. Parkhouse, and C. Cummings. J. Leech practised acrobatics, while T. Menzies carried out a cross country flight. The aircraft used was the Tiger Moth, ZL-ALP.
