CHRISTCHURCH, May 19.

Wrapped in a white cloth and tied up in a Drown paper parcel, the uedy of an mlant was found on the south bank of the Heathcote river. The discovery was made by a nine-year-old who was walking along the river-bank near the junction of Radley street, Clarendon terrace, and Ferry road, about 11.30 o’clock.

Detectives are making inquiries about the identity of the child.
