Millerton Boxing Tourney
A boxing tournament at Millerton on Friday night, the first for twenty years, drew a large and enthusiastic crowd, despite counter attractions. H. Hawes was adjudged the most scientific boxer. The results were as follows: — M. Caldwell 4.7 beat K. Cummings 4.11. S. Tredennick 4.7 beat R. Shaw 4.6. G. Orman 6.4 beat L. Clayton 6.12. P. Jeffries 6.12 beat K. Wilson 6.5. M. Easton 5.1 beat S. Boyes 5.0. D. Mathewson 5.4 beat K. Phillips 5.6. L. Goodall 5.8 beat H. Mullan 6.0. T Smith 5.10 beat T. Philp. T. Keeping 5.3 beat J. Williams 5.3. J. Cunniffe 6.4 beat L. Dean 6.3. C. Gibbons beat M. Duncan. D Marr beat Sullivan. J. Wilson 7.8 beat W. Cummings 7.2.
