Blackball’s Good Win Over Runanga

The largest crowd of the season Witnessed sparkling football yesterday. when in a hard fought match, Blackball defeated Runanga by 21 points to live. At half-time, Blackball led Runanga 13-5, as a result of tries for the home team by Lee, Kirwan,’ and A. O’Donnell. R. Nuttall converted two tries. For Runanga. Newton scored a try, and Soster kicked a penalty goal. In the second spell, A. Clark and Kirwan scored, nd Nuttall converted a try. McNaughton made a reappearance for Blackball and strengthened his side considerably 7. Kirwan was the best of a good set of backs, and K. Mountford was outstanding in the forwards. There was a record crowd at Ngahere to witness the Marist-Ngahere game yesterday, Ngahere winning by ISpoints to nine.
