Hon. J. O’Brien, who has continued to make steady progress following an operation for a bronchial complaint, is still a patient in the Wellington Public Hospital. He is expected to return to his home in Wellington on Monday. The death occurred at Invercargill yesterday, after a long illness, of Mr William T. Hazlett, a prominent racehorse owner and breeder, and a member of the Racing Conference, and also one of the best known run holders and business men in Otago and Southland. A son of the late Mr John Hazlett, the deceased 'was connected with sporting activities throughout his whole life, first as a Rugby player, and later as the racing owner of an extensive string of racehorses that won many successes on local as well as northern tracks, and also in Australia. He is survived by two sons, Messrs W. E. and'J. L. Hazlett, and two daughters, Mesdames W. L. Cunningham and E. C. Tapley.— Press Assn.
