Britain’s Tremendous National Debt Over £25,612 Millions
— — (Rec. 10.10) LONDON, April 16. A White Paper giving a financial statement discloses that the British national debt on March 31 last totalled £26,612,487,000, compared with £23,270,862,00'0 one year ago. The net total internal debt (Govrenment Securities, Treasury Bills and deposits, National Savings, etc.) was £24,843,539,000. The total external debt was £768,948,000, this consisting of a United States Government loan of £258,306,000 and other debt payable in external currency totalling £76,399,000.
