GREYMOUTH GIRL EXCELS AT WAITAKI
Miss Margaret Steel, the 14-year-old daughter of Mrs J. Steel, of Greymouth, won honours in a row at the recently conducted athletic sports at the Waitaki Girls’ High School. In the intermediate championship's. Miss Steel won by one point from Miss M. Milne. She won the 75yds in 9 2-ssec; the 50yds in 6 4-5; was placed second in both the long jump and the hop, step and jump; then rounded off the day by winning the 100yds sprint, to win the championship of the school with 21 points.
