Compo Government For West Australia
TO BE FORMED Last Saturday’.? election has given the Liberal Party and the Country Democratic League 25 of the 50 seats in the Legislative Assembly of West Australia, and the Labour Party 23. The L’eutenant-Governor (Sir James Mitchell) will ask the leader of the Parliamentary Liberal Party (Mr D. R. McLarty) to form a new Gvernment. Service votes are still outstanding, and the final result may not. be known for 10 days. To preserve a safe majority, the composite Government will probably invite one of the two Independents to accept the speakership.
