Bulk Delivery of Beer: Wellington Proposal

WELLINGTON, March 20.

A proposal ‘ for the bulk delivery of beer to hotels’ through pipes laid under the footpaths, as recommended by the city engineer, Mr K. E. Luke, was discussed by the Wellington City Council last night. Cr E. R. Toop said he did not think he would fancy beer that had travelled in pipes for such a distance. He wondered how pipes would be kept clean and would the beer be any cheaper. Cr M. F. Luckie said it was done in other countries and would be done in Wellington in accordance with the health regulations.
