NEW GOLD CUP FOR SPEEDBOAT COMPETITION

A WELLINGTON, March 20. “A gold cup valued at a hundred guineas has been given by Mr S. W. Moult, of Wellington, for a Dom-inion-wide competition for the attainment of the highest speed on water. Mr Moult said the Masport Cup would still be raced for, but his cup would be open for competition among all speed-boats, and that would enable supercharged, or even jet-pronclled boats to compete for it. It has been suggested that a new organisation be formed with its headquarters at Petone, to control the competition for the Moult trophy, which will be known as the Super Water-speed Motor Cup, and bear his initials. Mr Moult added that while he was aged sixty he was not yet finished with speed-boat racing.
