WATAROA NOTES

[Our Own Correspondent]. Mr W. Smith, Manager of New Zealand Road Services at Hokitika was a visitor to Wataroa during the week-end. Mr Joseph Curtain visited Hokitika during the week as South Westland representative to the Westland County Council. Mr J. Chivers', of Trumans Ltd., Greymouth, is now on his return from Bruce Bay. Mr M. B. ames was a recent visitor to Wataroa and South Westland. A large number of opossums have been trapped in the vicinity of the lower Waitangi and Wataroa rivers. The Catholic ladies in this district have decided to hold a sale of work in the near future. The tailing of lambs has now commenced in this district, and many farmers have nearly completed this task. The Road Services’ bobby calf lorry will now lift all bobby calves twice a week.
