WOMEN’S CRICKET

May be Played ON WEST COAST Mr. G. Sansom, secretary of the West Coast Cricket Association at last night’s meeting stated that there was a possibility that women’s cricket matches could be played on the West Coast in the near future if suitable arrangements could be made. He stated that basketball teams could co-operate with the various men's clubs. When the West Coast team went to Christchurch last year, Mr. lan Cromb stated that with women In the clubs it was found that they were far more stronger, but stated that it'was hard to get young people interested at the present time. “We should get the basketball association to help us”, he stated. He said the women could play on the 'Rec. or on Victoria Park, of an afternoon, so as to allow Mercantile League Cricket to be played of a Saturday morning.
