POSSIBLE IDENTIFICATION. WELLINGTON’, Sept. 12. The belie! that “Gunner Chrisp,” the man whose identity has baffled the authorities since he was . found wandering among United Kingdom troops in Tunisia on May 9, 1943, is an Australian airman, is held by a Melbourne resident from a description in the Australian newspapers. He considers that the man is Warrant Officer A. 0. Kidson, of the R.A.A.F. Advice to this effect has been received in Auckland by the Joint Council of the Order of St. John and the New Zealand Red Cross Society from the Australian Red Cross. With a view to identification the council has been asked to forward photgoraphs. It is stated that Kidson had a girl friend named Betty in Melbourne, and the council has also been asked to forward' photographs of a woman found in “Chrisp’s” possession.
