High Priced Dog SYDNEY, August 22. Ranking third on the list of expensive dogs imported to- Australia, “Maythorpe British Oak” (nicknamed Beau) arrived here to-day from England. He is a Bulldog pup. He cost his new owner, Miss C Booth, of Randwick, two hundred and fifty pounds. His brother was sold for five hundred pounds in South Africa. The highest price' for an imported pedigreed dog was twelve hundred guineas, paid for an Airedale champion, Ilan Flyaway, in 1921. Nine years ago another Bulldog was bought for five hundred pounds.

PLANE CRASHES / ’ SYSNEY, August 21. A 'tiger Moth plane, owned by the Australian Air League, crashed in French’s Forest to-day, 15 minutes after leaving Mascot Aerodrome, Sydney, for Tamworth. For nearly an hour, police and firemen worked to free the pilot, whose legs* were pinned under the engine. He was rushed to hospital, but died an hour later. The co-pilot suffered abrasions to his face and head.
