70,000 IMMIGRANTS
AUSTRALIA’S YEARLY QUOTA. (Rec. 8.25). SYDNEY, May 16. New South Wales will receive a yearly quota of thirty-thous-and immigrants out of an Australian total of seventy thousand when the Commonwealth’s plan comes into operation. This was announced to-day by the Minister of I inmigration, Mr. Calwell, after discussions with the newly appointed State Minister of Immigration, Mr. Clive.
