Mr Alf Kirby, of Nelson, has taken over the Public Works Department’s cook house at Charming Creek. Mr Kirby is a first-class cook and smallgoods man, and-the camp is fortunate in securing his services. AIR PASSENGERS. Air passengers to and from Westport have been:— From Wellington, Wednesday: Mr Bisphan. To Wellington, yesterday: Mrs W. Lowe. To Nelson, yesterday: Mr J. McLeod. DENNISTON MINE The Denniston miners went to work this afternoon, but trouble arose regarding water from the wooden bridge, which was flctving through the mine. A meeting was held at 2 p.m. If the dispute can be settled, the workers will resume tomorrow. TENNIS The following is the draw for the Ces Walker Cup competition to be played this week-end, Saturday. February 16: St. John’s Tuis v. St. John’s Kiwis on St. John’s courts commencing at 1.30 p.m. sharp on Saturday or Sunday; Hector v. Granity at Hector.
