Two Million Japanese IN KOREA AND MANCHURIA (Rec. 9.50) TOKIO, Jan. 31 The Japanese Cabinet have decided to seek Allied co-operation in aininp - the Japanese civilians who are stranded in the Russian-occupied area of north Korea and of Manchuria. , ~ According to the Government figures two million Japanese are facing death from cold and starvation m camps that are strung along the railways. Inflation, in Japan MACARTHUR’S MOVE TO CURB IT (Rec. 11.40) TOKIO, Jan. 31In a new move to curb inflation, General MacArthur has ordered the Japanese deposit funds of the Management Bureau, Post Office and Life Insurance Bureau, which hold the people’s investments, to absorb national and local government borrowings until March 31. Japanese currency in circulation at present totals 57,000 million yen and is increasing by 100 million yen daily. Raw Silk in Japan PREPARATION ORDERED (Rec. 11.40) TOKIO, Jan. 31. General MacArthur has ordered the Japanese Government to prepare 3432 hundred pounds of raw silk for early export. It will be shipped as soon as instructions arrive from Washington.
