Mrs R. Sanders, Westport, and Mrs May Thompson, of Christchurch, have been visiting Millerton. Mr. C. L. Morey has returned to Westport from Wellington. Mr. A. G. Colvin has returned from a visit to Wellington. Constable G. Billborough will leave Westport to-day for relieving duty at Otira. Westport Technical High School cadets left, by yesterday afternoon’s rail-car for Burnham Camp, under the command of Captain J. Watson. Mrs Rose Mills, formerly of Westport, died at Otaki on Wednesday morning. Mrs Mills was a daughter of Mr and Mrs Fayen, Buller pioneers, and left Westport 30 years ago. She is survived bv two sons and three daughters. Mr R. H. Fayen, Westport, is a brother, and Mr J. C. Fayen, of Waimangaroa, a nephew. The funeral of Mr. James Alexander Watson of Granity, whose death occurred at Wellington on Sunday took place at Orowaiti cemetery yes-, terday afternoon. The service was conducted by Rev. Lockhead. Pallbearers at the railway station were the late Mr. Watson’s brothers, Messrs John, George and Alan Watson, and his son, Mr. James Watson. At the cemetery the casket was carried by members of the Westport Trotting Club, Messrs W. A. Craddock, H. Lovell,, R. Powell, W. Roche, T. Scanlan, and J. P. McEnaney. There was a very large attendance. MILLERTON PERSONALS. Messrs Ken Jones, Strang, and T. Fox are touring the North Island. Mr and Mrs Wm. Strang have left for Palmerston North, visiting their two married daughters. Mi- and Mrs Robert -McGavin and Betty Pollock are visiting Christchurch. Mrs Clarke-Smith and her two daughters are visiting her parents, Mr and Mrs D. Closs, Wellington. Mrs T. Douglas and family have arrived home after visiting Mokihinui. Mr Alex Mclntyre har. returned after Visiting Christchurch. Messrs G. Anderson, W. Cunliffe and Alex Cummings are visiting Timaru. Mr and Mrs M. Lamb have returned from Timaru. Mr James Stewart has returned home after visiting his sister in. Christchurch. AIR PASSENGERS. McMeechan, Mrs M. McMeechan. Miss M. McMeechan. COMMUNITY CENTRE A meeting of the Buller Community Centre Committee was held in .Westport last evening. The President, Mrs. E. Farrell was in the chair. The secretary, Mr. R. R. Dawber, advised that further procedure was necessary before the committee could be registered as an incorporat- . ed' society. Amendments to the con- : stitution were therefore approved and the constitution was witnessed. The Nelson Education Board's ■ architect wrote to the effect that . except for certain articles the contents of the old brick school could , be used x or destroyed as the com- . mittee wished.
