CYCLING
The usual track meeting of the Greymouth Cycling Club was held last night, in good weather conditions, but the track was in poor order, being heavy and deeply rutted in places after the recent heavy rain. In the senior races, J. Cooper was again well to the fore, winning the two mile event in 4.37 4-5, good time considering the order of the track. J. Gardnei won the junior mile with compartive ease, and finished second in the senior half mile. He also gained a third place in the senior two miles. H. Pratt’s win in the senior half mile in .1.4 was also a creditable effort under the conditions. Results are as follows: —
Senior events: Half mile: H. Pratt (50) 1; J. Gardner (85) 2; J. Cooper (scr) and E. Patterson (60) dead-heat, third. Time: 1.4. Fourteen started. Two miles: J. Cooper (100) 1; V. Goodall (250) 2; J. Gardner (300) 3. Time: 4.37 4-5. Twelve started. Junior mile: J. Gardner (scr) 1; .1. Alexander (10) 2; Cranna (30) 3. Seven started. Novice half mile: O. Cairns 1; G. Patterson 2; J. Alexander 3. Time: 1.22. Ten started.
