STATE OR PRIVATE? (Rec. 10.5). LONDON, January 29. ■ Mr Christopher Chancellor, General Manage? of Reuter’s News Agency, in a speech at the Overseas Writers’ Club, praised the American Associated Press directors’ action in withdrawing their news service from the U.S. State Department. He added that some Governments were at present considering the conversion of their wartime propaganda units into peacetime publicity units, but the Associated Press directors told not only the American Government, but the British and all other Governments, “wait a minute—let us see where we are going!” ,
