Fashion highlights at White’s Fashion Corner. —Advt. Rabbit skins to the value of at least £500,000 were taken from the port of Otago by an American vessel, the “Kenneth McKay,” which sailed for New' York on Thursday night. The number of bales in the shipment was approximately 13,000 and their value of half a million pounds was a record for the port, although the total quantity of bales Jias been exceeded in previous shipments, made when prices w r ere lower. The “Kenneth McKay” also had on board approximately 170 bales bf opossum skins, representing a total value of about £70,000. Another valuable shipment, w’hich left the Dunedin port recently v.’as the cargo of wool which was taken by the “Antar.” She took what is said to be the largest shipment of wool that has gone forward since the outbreak of w-ar.—Press Assn. Ronnie McLeod, of South Beach, was critically injured yesterday afternoon about 4.30 on the main highway opposite the South Beach sawmill, v.’hen he was struck by a motor-car. He apnarently stepped from behind the Paroa school bus as the car was passing. He was admitted to the hospital in a serious condition, -and underwent an operation, his condition remaining still critical at a late hour last night.
