NX Primary Production DUNEDIN, July 19. “It is regrettable there should be, just now, so much foolish talk about primary production having gone into a serious decline,” stated the Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. P. Fraser to-day. “Here are some facts that should put an end to pessimism. The average production of butterfat in the five seasons during wartime is 191,500 tons, as compared with 189,000 tons for the five pre-war seasons. This season’s estimate is 193,000 tons. The average of meat production for the last five seasons is 526,000 tons, against the average of 470,000 tons in the three pre-war seasons. The estimate for the current year is 520,000 tons.” . 1(
