■ FARMERS’UNION Mass Move on Finance. Minister WELLINGTON, July 19. If an appointment can be arranged, all delegates to the Farmers’ Union conference now sitting in Wellington, will wait upon the Government as a deputation to put forward the Union’s views on stabilisation, the Bank of New Zealand proposals and hospital rating. This decision was made to-day by the conference. Mr. K. J. Holyoake, convener of the committee which considered the proposal, said it was recommended that the deputation should offer the full support of farmers to implement stabilisation, while demanding that farmers’ prices should be raised to meet increased cost's, and also give an undertaking that farmers would stand by stabilisation at the new level. LATER. The entire representation of 97 delegates of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union Annual Conference, and, also members of their Women’s Division will go to Parliament at 9 a.m. to-morrow to demand to see the Minister of Finance (Hon. W. Nash), or other Government representatives. The conference, through selected speakers, will make representations on the census, the country quota, Bank of New Zealand, stabilisation and hospital rating. The decision to go to Parliament was made to-night, on the recommendation of a committee. Endeavours were made earlier to-day to arrange an interview with Mr. Nash. It was ascertained that the Minister was fjilly occupied from 9.15 a.m. to-morrow, with interviews which previously had been arranged, and that he is having, to attend in the House in the absence of the Prime Minister. The best that the Minister could suggest was a deputation from the Dominion Executive on a date to be arranged. A committee, set up, however, decided it could not agree to this. The conference decided that it would not close in,' the normal way for 12 months, but that, in view of important issues, would stand adjourned for re-assembly again, if that should be necessary.
