[Our Cwn Correspondent] > ,/ HOKITIKA, June 28. The sea conditions r had moderated yesterday, and the Gael was able to sail after 11 o’clock for Wellington. The vessel is due back next Week with 'general cargo, and will then make a. trip to southern ports. x The Gael will probably be slipped at Port Nelson during July for the' installation of the new Diesel engine, and for some other minor alterations. At a meeting of the "Trustees of the Hokitika Savings Bank this morning, Mr T. W. Duff was unanimously elected president of the Hokitika Savings Bank a><d chairman of the Board of Trustees. ( At the funeral of the late Mrs Havill, which took place at the Hokitika Cemetery on Monday afternoon, following a service conducted by the Rev. A. D. Harding, Mrs Tainui, the oldest inhabitant of. the Arahura Maori Pa, rendered the- Maori lament. Afterwards Mr Tuhuru Tainui gave a brief oration extolling the virtues of their deceased friend, and the firm friendship she had for the Maori people, It was a fine tribute from the Maoris of Arahura Pa, to whom the late' Mrs Havill had endeared' herself. Mr Geo. Gilchrist (secretary of the local R.S.A.) has been attending the Dominion conference, and in his. absence Mr T. W. Duff yesterday pre-, sided at a meeting of the local Rehabilitation Committee.

The local third grade Rugby team is training for the matchy with Greymouth on Saturday. The team is expected to give a good account of itself.
