WEDDING

CALLAGHAN—TYSON. The wedding took place at the Presbyterian Church, Runanga, on Saturday, of Madge, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. Tyson, New Brighton, and Sgt. John Riddell, only son of Mrs. and the late Mr. J. Callaghan, Takapuna, Auckland. Rev. W. Brittell officiated. The bride, escorted by her father, was charmingly attired in white lace, the neck line finalising with a Queen Anne collar, and her skirt falling into a graceful train. Her veil of net, edged with lace, was held in position by a coronet, of orange blossom. Her bouquet was of white chrysanthemums in the form of a sheath. z The bride’s sister, Norma, of New Plymouth, was bridesmaid, wearing a frock of blue georgette over satin (the three-quarter length sleeves finished with rucking), and a lowwaisted sqll length skirt. Her sheath was of bronze-tinted and lemon chrysanthemums. Mr. W. Grigor, Christchurch, who recently returned from the Middle East with the bridegroom, was best man. The bride’s mother received the guests at Harker’s, where the reception was held. She was attired in a black frock, and coat with accessories to tone, and wore a shoulder spray of cyclamen chrysanthemums. The bride’s sister, Mrs. R. E. Williams, assisted her mother. Nurse Doris Alexander, M.T.D., Nurse Eileen Hill, Corporal Noel Deuart, Corporal Jack Chaney, W.O. W. Jarvis, W.O. Trevor Harker, Middle East, service friends of both the bride and broom, were among the guests, who numbered about fifty. Sgt. and Mrs. J. R. Callaghan left later by rail-car for Christchurch, the bride wearing a mulberry-coloured frock and checked coat, with accessories to tone. Their future home will be lakapuna, Auckland.
