Feb. 6 An announcement that H.M.S. “Indefatigable” participated in attacks on oil refineries in Sumatra is the first disclosure that this most recent addition to the Royal Navy’s fleet of aircraft carriers is in commission. Reuter’s correspondent savs that the “Indefatigable” is Britain’s heaviest, speediest, and most secret carrier. She was in action several times last autumn and participated in the final bombing attacks on the Tirpitz. She is of 30,000 tons and is Britain’s first quadruple-screw carrier.
