AUSTRALIAN NAVY

(Rec. 6.30). CANBERRA, Nov. 26. Australian naval ships have sunk, or probably sunk, 27 submarines 1 . The Australian Navy now has 347 vessels of all tvnes serving throughout the world. Eighty-five per cent, of them •are in operational areas. Nine of Australia’s original naval vessels have been lost in action. Up to the end of October, 1944, the casualties were 269 officers, and 2346 ratings. Australian Navy personnel have won 568 awards, including 19 foreign decorations.
