AUSTERITY XMAS

FOR AUSTRALIANS. (Frac. 8.30) CANBERRA, Nov. 23. Apart from having an .abundance of dried fruits, Australia will experience another austerity Christmas this year. According to Government officials there will be no increased quotas of beer, cigarettes or tobacco. Bacon and ham will be on the same limited distribution basis as at present. The officials added that Christmas luxury lines, such as stuffed olives, could not be expected until the war was won.
