lOur Own Correspondent.! HOKITIKA, October 11. The Mayor, Mr A. R. Elcock, has received advice from Hon. J. O’Brien that the question of a more suitable airport for Westland is receiving consideration, and that up to the present the site at Cemetery. Hill seemed to offer the best possibilities. When more details had been secured, and investigations completed, he would again advise the Mayor. Coyle ; 10s, with costs, for cycling, at night without a light; J. Murphy, 10s, with costs, for allowing a cow to wander at Ruatapu. The Inspector of Awards (H. S’. Flurle) claimed a penalty of £lO from the Westland Hospital Board for a breach of the New Zealand Hospital Boards’ Engine-drivers’, Firemen’s and Greasers’ Award, in that the fireman was not paid dirt money for the handling of refuse which was burnt in the furnace. The Magistrate held that the position was similar to whe.re there was an automatic feed, and I that the firemen were not required Ito handle the refuse. Judgment was given in favour of the Board.
