Mr L. Reid, of Dargaville, arrived yesterday at Greymouth, where he will replace as Health Inspector Mr J. Linford, who leaves on Wednesday on transfer to Taihape.

Mr W. Cochran, of New Plymouth who has been visiting his son, Mr B. Cochran, of Alexander Street, leaves to-day on h s return to New Plymouth.

A motion of sympathy with the relatives of the late Mrs. J'. E. Thomas was passed at last evening’s meeting of the Greymouth Borough Council, the Mayor (Mr. F. A. Kitchingham) referring to her long and useful life.
